Research Methods, T&L 2900

Search engines and databases are useful research tools. However, choosing the right tool for research can be challenging. An internet search engine, like Google, may be the right tool for some information needs but there is no control over the quality of information found in a general search inquiry. Thus, learning how to judge the information found online is an essential research skill. When doing academic research, the most appropriate tools are library databases and open education resources. This course will focus on research as a process of inquiry and evaluation.
